
The NanoMedex management and research team is comprised of practicing physicians/scientists lead by David L. Cooper, Ph.D., M.D., President and Executive Officer.
Dr. Cooper was formerly Chief Scientific and Operations Officer of the Nichols Institute, Quest Diagnostics; subsequently he was Chief Medical Officer of NimbleGen. He has maintained an active consulting service to the biotechnology, diagnostic and pharmaceutical sectors for the last 10 years through David L. Cooper and Associates.
Dr. David L. Cooper has extensive senior level administrative, scientific and medical experience in managing research and development, operations, regulatory affairs and business development in medical diagnostics, biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors. He has Executive experience as CEO, CSO, CMO and COO with privately held start-up companies to publicly traded Fortune 500 companies. As well as, scientific and medical strategist with proven performance as a product-oriented, corporate executive in national and international markets.
Dr. Cooper has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Florida State University and a M.D. from the University of Florida.
Mr. Johnson is currently the Managing Director of Kegonsa Capital Partners. KCP is the General Partner of the Kegonsa Seed Fund I; the Kegonsa Seed Fund is the largest NanoMedex shareholder. Previously Mr. Johnson was part of the management of six start up companies including Tetrionics where he was the Head of Marketing and GenTel BioSciences where he was the CEO.
Mr. Johnson is on the Board of four Kegonsa portfolio companies, has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from UWisconsin and a MBA from Illinois Institute of Technology.
Mr. Girard retired as Vice Chairman, Finance & Administration of Shopko Stores, Inc. He previously served as Executive Vice President and CFO of both Supervalu Inc and Supermarkets General Corporation. He taught finance at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management and currently owns Beam Dynamics Inc., a producer of precision metal parts used in scientific research.
Mr. Girard currently serves on the boards of Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. and Ace Hardware Corporation.; previously he served on the boards of Shopko Stores, Inc. and ProVantage Healthcare.
Mr. Girard received a B.A. in Economics from Michigan State University and an M.B.A. in Finance & Marketing from Columbia University.
Nikolaus Gravenstein has 25 years experience in health care and research. He is a fellowship trained anesthesiologist who has chaired a major academic department for over a decade, edited numerous textbooks and authored numerous scientific papers. He has been developing intellectual property for the last 20 years.
He has a bachelor degree from Case Western Reserve University and an M.D. degree from the University of Florida.
Timothy E. Morey, M.D. currently serves as Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, University of Florida. His research efforts revolve around medical applications of nanotechnology, activities supported by the NIH, State of Florida, Office of Naval Research, and other funding agencies.
Dr. Morey graduated from the University of Florida with a M.D. in 1992 and completed his residency at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL.
Mr. Nottoli is the president and founder of PharmaNutrients, Inc. a supplier of nutrition compounds and NourishLife LLC., an Ecommerce marketer of specialty omega-3 fatty acid nutritional supplements.
Mr. Nottoli is a serial entrepreneur, having creating several successful nutrition businesses. With his firm PharmaNutrients, he developed novel, science-backed nutrition ingredients including Tonalin® and CLA One®. Mark pioneered the “Intel inside” model for the nutrition industry, supplying his products to hundreds of the leading nutrition firms in the US, Europe and Japan. After reaching significant levels of sales, he sold these brands to multi-national firms.
